Encourage students to bike to school during Bike To School Week! The 'Bike Fairy' will visit every school in the district, leaving fun prizes on all the bikes to reward students for their participation. Biking to school is a fantastic way for students to stay active, reduce their carbon footprint, and contribute to a healthier environment.
A Bike Bus, which is a group of students and adults riding to school together on bikes, is a fun and safe way to participate. Safe Routes is here to assist any school that wants to organize a Bike Bus, providing promotional materials, advice, and on-site support to make the event a success. Let’s work together to create a week full of excitement, fitness, and eco-friendly fun!

Bike Bus
Organizing a Bike Bus is a great way to make biking to school possible for everyone! A volunteer meets the student cyclists at a park, and they ride to school together as a group. The Beaverton Safe Routes to School team will help you with promotional materials, choosing a route, safety guidance, and one of our team will join you on the ride to assist.

Bike Skills COurse
Set up a simple skills course for students to use after school before they ride home using chalk and cones. An adult volunteer with a first aid kit sets the course up and supervises students.

Bike To School Week
Bike to School Week is NEXT WEEK! Be sure to fill up your child's tires this weekend so that they can participate. Get your student excited to ride: throughout the week we will have a “bike fairy” leaving prizes on parked bikes and some schools are organizing 'Bike Buses,' where supervised students ride to school from a meeting point .
We hope that you join in on the fun and use this as a chance to show your child how enjoyable active transportation can be!

¡La Semana de Ir a la Escuela en Bicicleta es la PRÓXIMA SEMANA! Asegúrate de inflar las llantas de tu hijo este fin de semana para que pueda participar. Anima a tu estudiante a montar: durante toda la semana tendremos una "hada de la bicicleta" dejando premios en las bicicletas estacionadas y algunas escuelas están organizando "Autobuses de Bicicletas", donde estudiantes supervisados montan a la escuela desde un punto de encuentro.
