This event celebrates walking + rolling (bike, scooter, skateboard, or bus) to school with prizes, class tallies to track participants, and a raffle for a new scooter and helmet provided by Safe Routes To School.

International Walk + Roll to School Day is coming up on October 4th! Parents, this is a great chance to get your child excited about active transportation. Getting exercise in the fresh air is the best way to get mentally and physically prepared for a day in the classroom. Mark your calendar and plan your route!

¡El DÃa Internacional de Caminar + Rodar a la Escuela se acerca el 4 de octubre! Padres, es una excelente oportunidad para motivar a sus hijos sobre el transporte activo. Walk + Roll to School Day
International Walk + Roll to School Day is this Wednesday! Make a plan now for how your family will participate: coordinate with a friend for a walk to school, ride bikes as a family, or ask to see if your school will have a Walking School Bus available. Choosing to walk, bike, and bus to school is one of the biggest ways students can help the planet, it's a great way to start the day, and it also happens to be really FUN!

¡El DÃa Internacional de Caminar y Rodar a la Escuela es este miércoles! Haz un plan ahora sobre cómo participará tu familia: coordina con un amigo para caminar a la escuela, monta bicicletas en familia o pregunta si tu escuela tendrá un Bus Escolar Caminante disponible. Elegir caminar, montar bicicleta y tomar el bus a la escuela es una de las mayores formas en que los estudiantes pueden ayudar al planeta, es una excelente manera de comenzar el dÃa y también resulta ser muy DIVERTIDO.

On your marks, get set, it's time to Walk + Roll! Celebrate International Walk + Roll to School Day tomorrow by walking, busing, or riding your bike, scooter, or skateboard to get to class. Students will enjoy prizes and a scooter raffle at school as part of this fun event!

¡En sus marcas, listos, es hora de Caminar y Rodar! Celebra el DÃa Internacional de Caminar y Rodar a la Escuela mañana caminando, tomando el bus o montando tu bicicleta, patineta o patinete para llegar a clases. Los estudiantes disfrutarán de premios y una rifa de patinetes en la escuela como parte de este divertido evento.

Whole School Walking Event
Get the whole school moving! Walk, run, or dance around the track to upbeat music.
Bike Bus
Bike Buses are supervised groups of students who ride to school together. Contact SRTS for support and materials - we would love to join your ride!
Greeting Committee
Greet and encourage students as they arrive to school with a group of teacher cheerleaders.

Walk + Roll Mini-Lesson Menu
Read (or watch) the book 'Wonder Walkers' the day before Walk + Roll Day. As your students to think of something they wonder about while they walk to school. Share your wonders the next day in class.
Writing prompt: How would you get to school if you got to choose? Would you walk with your friends, ride your bike, or take the bus? Why would you make that choice?
