love the bus
Be sure to show drivers your appreciation this week with a thank you, high five or a card. Don’t forget to ride your assigned school bus on February 15th to receive your prize! Visit www.beaverton.k12.or.us/safe-routes to download a card template and share shoutouts on social media using #LoveTheBus #BSDtogether #BSDsaferoutes.
Ride the bus Day
Don't forget to ride the bus tomorrow for Ride The Bus Day! This is a great chance for kids to try riding the bus to see how they like it. The more kids on the bus, the fewer cars there are on the road clogging traffic and polluting the air.
Celebration ideas
Coffee + Doughnuts
Thank the bus drivers with a coffee and doughnut table in the morning so that they start their day off right.
Thank You Poster
Have your school leadership team make a large poster using butcher paper for bus riders to write a message and sign. Hang the poster where your drivers will see it as they drop off students.
Make Cards
Provide bus riders with paper and markers to make cards for their drivers. Consider adding this to your school's 'friendship celebrations.'
